The Blugolds took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning and held it until the fifth. In that frame the Blugolds tallied another run but would give up four, giving the Pioneers a 4-3 advantage.

Eau Claire would respond in the top of the sixth as Kelsey Meredith (Jr.-Golden Valley, MN/Armstrong) hit an RBI double to tie the score. The tie was short-lived, however, as Platteville would tally two runs to take a 6-4 lead.

Leah Wolff (Jr.-Middleton, WI) hit a run-scoring single to centerfield to bring the score to 6-5, but the Blugold rally was cut short, handing Eau Claire their second conference loss.

Game two was a different story as the Blugolds pounded out 16 hits in a 10-0 win. The game started in the same pattern as the first, with Eau Claire scoring two runs in the second and one in the fifth, but this time added two runs in the sixth and exploded for five in the top of the seventh to cruise to the shut-out win.

Highlights in game two included a homerun and double by Evie Schaller (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, WI) and doubles by Brooke Varian (Fr. – Madison, WI/West), Wolff, Morgan Lecheler (Jr.-Menomonie, WI) , Bri Calder (Fr.-Corcoran, MN/Rockford) and Meredith.

On the day, Schaller led the way going 6-for-9 with three doubles and a round-tripper while Calder was 4-for-7 and Varian 4-for-9. Lauren Blasczyk (Jr.-Appleton, WI/East) earned the complete game win in the circle, scattering six hits while striking out seven.
