Arnold Named WIAC Softball Player of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire softball catcher Casey Arnold (Sr.-Kaukauna, WI) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Position Player of the Week, it was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Arnold had a big week at the plate as the Blugolds went 3-1 for the week.  In an 8-1 home victory over Marian (Wis.) Arnold went two-for-three from the plate including a two-run line drive to center field.  In a 14-5 victory at UW-Stevens Point Arnold again went two-for-three from the plate knocking in three runs, being walked twice and scoring a run.  In game two of the doubleheader, a 13-2 Blugold victory, Arnold went three-for-four from the plate which included a double while racking up three more RBI's against the Pointers.  For the week Arnold went seven-for-10 (.700) from the plate with seven runs batted in, three walks, two runs scored and one double.  Arnold posted a slugging percentage of .800 and an on-base percentage of .769.
