Blugold Softball Earns NFCA Academic Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Blugolds.com) – Eleven UW-Eau Claire softball players, along with the team, have earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) academic recognition for the 2013-14 season, NFCA officials recently announced.

Named NFCA Division III Scholar-Athletes were Casey Arnold (Kaukauna, WI), Lauren Blasczyk (Appleton, WI/East), Nicole Brooks (New Richmond, WI/St. Croix Central), Deanna Gilane (South Milwaukee, WI), Amanda Houle (Chisago Lakes, MN), Morgan Lecheler (Menomonie, WI),  Kayla Meixner (Pepin, WI), Samantha Noetzelman (Delano, MN), Laura Raflik (Plover, WI/Pacelli), Emily Ruegemer (St. Cloud, MN/Cathedral) and Leah Wolff (Middleton, WI).

The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2013-14 academic year.
