Softball Championship Reduced To Single Day

MADISON, Wis.--Due to snow-covered fields in Eau Claire, Wis., along with an unstable forecast throughout the state, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Championship has been reduced to a one-day, single-elimination tournament.  The six-team event will be held at the Omni Center in Onalaska, Wis., on Sunday (May 5).

The winner of the event earns the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship.

Championship Schedule:
Game 1--UW-La Crosse (#5) vs. UW-Stout (#4), 11 a.m.
Game 2--UW-River Falls (#6) vs. UW-Oshkosh (#3), 11 a.m.
Game 3--UW-Eau Claire (#1) vs. Winner of Game 1, 1 p.m.
Game 4--UW-Whitewater (#2) vs. Winner of Game 2, 1 p.m.
Game 5*--Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4

*Game 5 will begin one hour after the conclusion of the last semifinal game, unless both teams mutually agree to start earlier.
