Dennis Named USTFCCCA Midwest Region Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS, La. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's track and field sprinter Thurgood Dennis (Sr.-Allouez, WI/Green Bay Notre Dame) has been named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year, it was recently announced.

Dennis won the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the WIAC championship with meet record performances of 10.12 and 20.61, respectively.  He also contributed to the first-place 4x100-meter relay team.  His time of 10.12 in the 100-meter dash is the fastest NCAA Division III all-conditions performance ever.  His wind legal times of 10.47 in the 100 is the top time in NCAA Division III this year and 21.35 200 is ranked fourth.

Dennis has set school records in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the 4 x 100-meter relay this season while also owning school records in the 400-meter dash and the 4 x 400-meter relay.
