Outdoor Track & Field Teams Compete at Last Chance Meets

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at two last chance meets over the last couple of days, North Central's Dr. Keeler Meet and UW-La Crosse's Eagle Open.

Katryna Williams (So.-Watertown, Wis.) had the top finish for the women at North Central, taking fourth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:57.85.

For the men at North Central, Erik Rosvold (So.-Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) had the best finish, taking 16th place with a time of 3:55.26 in the 1,500-meter run.

The top women's results in La Crosse came from the women's 4x400-meter relay team, placing first with a time of 4:12.50, and from Julia Stedman (So.-Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul), winning the triple jump with a distance of 11.58 meters (38-0).

For the men in La Crosse, Matt Scott (Sr.-Kiel, Wis.) had the best individual finish of the day for the Blugolds, taking second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.27. The Blugolds' 4x400-meter relay team came in second place with a time of 3:15.58.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday a few Blugolds will be back at North Central to compete in multi events while others will compete at UW-La Crosse on Thursday.
