Men's Outdoor Track & Field Finishes Second at La Crosse Invite

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Competing at the Ashton May Invitational at UW-La Crosse, the UW-Eau Claire men's outdoor track & field team finished in second place out of nine teams today.

Results

With five event victories, the Blugolds recorded 159 points while UW-La Crosse won with 200.

In the 200-meter dash, Cory White (Jr.-Tomah, Wis.) took the top spot with a time of 22.02 seconds.

Thurgood Dennis (Jr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) led the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.54 seconds while Blugolds finished with the top four places in the event.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Tony Floyd (Sr.-Whitewater, Wis.) won with a time of 15.06 seconds.

The Blugolds had two 4x400-meter relay teams finish in the top three. The team of Alexander Vandermause (Fr.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port), Dennis, Connor Drexler (Fr.-Baraboo, Wis.) and Jimmy Paske (Fr.-Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) won with a time of 3:19.36.

In the field, Roger Steen (Jr.-Luck, Wis.) had the top finish as he won the shot put with a distance of 16.77 meters (55-0.25).

Next Saturday, the Blugolds will be at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
