NEW ORLEANS (Blugolds.com) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2019 Outstanding Performers of the Meet from the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, with Blugolds Kyler Lueck (Jr. – Germantown, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) and David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI) earning honors.

USTFCCCA Release

Lueck shared the honor of Most Outstanding Men's Track Performer with Dhruvil Patel of North Central (Ill.) while David Kornack was named the Most Outstanding Men's Field Performer.

Each year the USTFCCCA honors the Outstanding Performers of the Meet at the NCAA DIII Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Winners are determined using a formula that considers team points scored, meet records (five additional points), Division III season bests (three additional points) and facility records (one point). Relay points, if applicable, are split equally between the four team members.

Lueck, the co-Most Outstanding Men's Track Performer, totaled 18 points using the above formula. He broke the meet record in the 800m run when he crossed the line first in 1:49.60 and notched a division-leading mark in the process.

Kornack, the Most Outstanding Men's Field Performer, tallied 18 points inside the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center using the above formula. He broke the meet record in the shot put with his heave of 19.83m (65-0¾), which also established a division-leading mark. That heave also was the farthest at the NCAA DIII level in the past 36 years.
