Blugold Indoor Track & Field Teams Compete at UWSP Last Chance Meet

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the UW-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet Saturday and got one first-place performance. No team scores were kept during Saturday's meet.

Results

Cody Prince (Jr.-Appleton, Wis./North) just edged out his teammate, Thurgood Dennis (Jr.-Allouez, Wis./Notre Dame) in the 400-meter dash for first place. Prince finished in 48.97 seconds, tying his own school record, while Dennis came in right behind him in second at 49.03 seconds.

Roger Steen (Jr.-Luck, Wis.) took second in the shot put with a heave of 17.38 meters (57-0.25).

On the women's side, Carly Fehler (Jr.-Oak Creek, Wis.) took home the top performance with a runner-up finish in the 60-meter dash. Fehler, who set the school record in the same event a week ago, crossed the line in 7.86 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Brooke Patterson (Jr.-Sussex, Wis./Hamilton), Steph Rouse (Jr.-Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins), Megan Mulligan (Jr.-Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) and Jessica Rupnow (So.-Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) turned in a season-best time with a third-place finish in 3:53.04.

Up next for the Blugolds is the NCAA Championship, hosted in Lincoln, Neb., by Nebraska Wesleyan. Competition is set to get underway Friday starting at 11 a.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. The NCAA will announce participants Monday.
