Zarnoth Sets School Record at Warren Bowlus Open

MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Brandon Zarnoth (Jr.-Appleton, Wis./North) set a school record, winning the 60-meter hurdles, as the UW-Eau Claire men's indoor track & field team competed at the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by UW-Stout, today.

Results

Zarnoth won the event with a time of 8.26 seconds, beating the Blugolds' old school record of 8.36 seconds set by Tony Floyd last season.

The Blugolds also came away with five other wins.

In the field, Roger Steen (Jr.-Luck, Wis.) had a good day as he won both the shot put and weight throw. He took first in the shot put with a distance of 16.84 meters and won the weight throw with a toss of 17.32 meters.

Thurgood Dennis (Jr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.87 seconds.

In the 600-meter run, Jacob Dennis-Oehling (Sr.-Whitewater, Wis.) took first place with a time of 1:22.55.

Cory White (Jr.-Tomah, Wis.) won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.72 seconds.

Next weekend the Blugolds will be at UW-Stevens Point for the Pointer Invite. Multi events will get underway Friday while the rest of the team will compete Saturday.
