Men's Tennis Goes 1-2 over Weekend in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Competing in its final three contests of the regular season, the UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team finished 1-2 at UW-La Crosse this weekend.

Eau Claire started the weekend Friday falling to UW-La Crosse 6-3 but bounced back Saturday morning to beat UW-Oshkosh 5-4 before falling 7-2 to UW-Whitewater.

Will Weyenberg (Fr.-Neenah, Wis.) went undefeated, playing in the No. 5 singles spot. He picked up a 6-3, 7-5 victory Friday, a 6-1, 6-3 win Saturday morning against the Titans and a 6-4, 6-3 win against Whitewater Saturday afternoon.

In doubles, Weyenberg and his partner Luke Zwiener (Fr.-Saint Cloud, Minn.) won at No. 3 twice, beating La Crosse opponents 8-2 while picking up an 8-4 win against Oshkosh.

Five other Blugolds each recorded one victory in singles this weekend, one against UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater and three against UW-Oshkosh.

The Blugolds complete the regular season with a 13-9 record.
