
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over Edgewood College in its final competition at home today.
The Blugolds lost only nine total games in singles play as everyone won in straight sets.
Florent Marco (Jr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and Michael Roden (Fr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) didn't lose a single game as they picked up 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively.
In doubles competition, Chris Kuna (Sr.-Edina, Minn.) and Joey Minear (Fr.-Oronoco, Minn./Rochester Century), along with David Stingley (Jr.-St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) and Roden won with scores of 8-3 playing at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively. Ryan Vande Linde (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and Dirk Van Rybroek (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Edgewood) picked up an 8-4 win at No. 2.
The Blugolds are now 16-7 on the season while Edgewood drops to 5-17.
Next weekend, the Blugolds will be in Oshkosh for three matches against UW schools. They will face UW-La Crosse on Friday and will take on UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater on Saturday.
