Men's Tennis Dominant in 9-0 Win Over Mary Hardin-Baylor

BELTON, Texas – (Blugolds.com)-The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire men's tennis team won 9-0 over University of Mary Hardin-Bayolor Tuesday afternoon in Belton.

The Blugolds got out to an early 3-0 lead sweeping doubles play. With Andrew Dahl (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) and partner Daniel Schoen (Brookfield, Wis/ Central) leading the way at the first position.  Zach Janssen (Green Bay, Wis. / Notre Dame) and Grant Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.) combined for an 8-2 triumph at the number two, and Renan Barros (Itajai, Santa Catarina, Brazil) teamed with  Adam Burk  (Forest Lake, Minn./ Totino Grace) for an 8-1 win at the number three spot.

Eau Claire never looked back sweeping all six singles matches. Janssen defeated Weiss (MHB) 6-3, 6-3 in the first line, while Dahl won 6-1, 6-4 at the two position. Barros, Schoen, and Mauthe all won by scores of 6-1, 6-1, at the three, four, and five positions. Burk won over Swords (MHB) in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 to finish the singles sweep.

The Blugolds, now 11-2, will face Concordia (TX) at the Austin Tennis Center at 1:00pm.
