St. Peter, Minn. (Blugolds.com)- The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire men's tennis team competed at the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn over the weekend.

In singles action junior Will Weyenberg (Neenah, Wis.) defeated Beck (UST) in the round of 128. Weyenberg went on to defeat Jaworski (Carthage) in the round of 64, and lost in the round of 32 to Steinwand (GAC).
Michael Mauthe (Neenah, Wis) and partner Andrew Dahl (Fort Atkinson, Wis) were seeding No.9 in the doubles tournament. The pair defeated Stefanich/Schneider (UWL) in the round of 64, and downed Jahrig/Klimek (Hamline) in the round of 32. Mauthe and Dahl lost in the round of 16 to Navratil/Wood (UWW).
Weyenberg and Andrew Rust (Golden Valley, Minn./ Hopkins) also made it to the round of 16 in the doubles tournament. The pair defeated Selby/Kavanaugh (UST) and Jaeger/Michael (Carroll) to advance. Rust and Weyenberg lost to Houni/Whaling (GAC) in the round of 16.
The Blugold men's tennis team will compete again February 4 at Coe College.
