Men's Tennis Announces Team Awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's  tennis head coach Tom Gillman recently announced the team award winners for the 2015-16 season.

Daniel Schoen (Fr. Brookfield,Wis.) received Player of the Year honors as a freshman on the Blugolds team. Schoen was 18-5 in singles play with an impressive 12-3 record at number four singles. The freshman was also 4-2 in doubles play this season. 

Michael Mauthe (Jr. Neenah,Wis.) was awarded the team's Blugold Award. Mauthe was 10-10 this season playing at number two singles. The junior also partnerned with Kyle Hoffmann at number one doubles with the duo earning an 14-5 overall record.

Bernardo Prado (Fr. Curitiba, PR (Brazil) received the team's Most Improved Award. Prado was 9-3 in singles action this year, with a 6-2 record playing at number six singles. Prado, also went 1-0 in doubles action this year. 

Jordon Stevens (Sr.Woodbury,Minn.) earned the Team Player Award.  Stevens was 2-0 in singles play this season, and partnered with Will Weyenberg to earn an impressive 14-5 record at number two doubles.  Stevens was named the teams Most Improved player the previous two years. 

 Kyle Hoffmann (Sr.-Franklin, WI) was awarded the team Coach's Award for the second year in a row. Hoffmann compiled an 12-11 record at number one singles this season. Hoffmann paired with Mauthe in doubles play, the two earning a 14-5 record at number one doubles.

The Blugolds had an overall record of 18-6 this season, and went undefeated in home matches. This marks the 12th-straight year that the program has posted double-digit dual meet victories
