
PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team put on another dominant performance Monday, defeating Paradise Valley Community College in Arizona 9-0.
At number one and two singles, Kyle Hoffmann (Jr. Franklin, Wis.) won 7-5, 6-2 while Michael Mauthe (So. Neenah, Wis.) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win. Will Weyenberg (Jr. Neenah, Wis.) (#3) and August Badura (Fr. Oconomowoc, Wis.) (#5) both cruised to 6-0, 6-1 victories and Daniel Schoen (Fr. Brookfield, Wis.) (#4) and Conrad Felten (Jr. Wausau, Wis.) (#6) won by scores of 6-2, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively.
In doubles action, Hoffmann and Mauthe recorded an 8-1 win at number one doubles. The team of Weyenberg and Jordan Stevens (Sr. Woodbury, Minn.) also earned an 8-1 victory with Andrew Rust (So. Golden Valley, Minn.) and Andrew Dahl (So. Fort Atkinson, Wis.)completed the sweep with an 8-2 win.
The Blugolds will compete tomorrow March 22 at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona.
