ST. PETER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team split their two road matchup this weekend, defeating Bethany Lutheran and falling to Gustavus Adolphus.

In what would be their first lopsided of two affairs of the weekend, they rode away with a 9-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran College on Friday. The Blugolds were overwhelmingly successful in individual play, winning every match without dropping a set. Each of the six matches was taken in two sets, dropping only a total of eight games, with seven set sweeps.

Friday's doubles play was equally as dominant with three victories, lead by Will Weyenberg (Jr.-Neenah, Wis./Neenah) and Michael Mauthe's (Jr.-Neenah, Wis/Neenah) 8-0 sweep.

Saturday's matchup with Gustavus Adolphus was far different for the Blugolds, however, as the Gusties turned Eau Claire's Friday shutout against them. Gustavus Adolphus won handily in a 9-0 rout, without dropping a set to the Blugolds. Before completing the third match of the day, Eau Claire's Andrew Dahl (So.-Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) would leave with an injury before the conclusion of the first set.

The next matchup for the Blugolds comes next Saturday as they will stay home at McPhee take on the University of Northwester-St. Paul at 11:00 a.m., followed by Lake Forrest College (Ill.) at 6:00 p.m. at the Eau Claire YMCA.
