EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's tennis head coach Tom Gillman recently announced the team award winners for the 2014-15 season.
Andrew Dahl (Fr.-Fort Atkinson, WI) received Player of the Year honors in his first season as a Blugold. Dahl went 19-4 in singles play including a 5-2 record at No. 5 singles and 14-2 mark at No. 6 singles. In doubles play Dahl posted a combined 14-10 record going 13-10 at No. 1 doubles and 1-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Will Weyenberg (So.-Neenah, WI) received the team Blugold Award. Weyenberg posted a 13-11 record in singles action posting a 12-9 mark at No. 2 singles and 1-1 record at No. 3 singles. As a doubles player Weyenberg went a combined 18-6 including a 17-6 record at No. 2 doubles and 1-0 at No. 3 doubles. Weyenberg won the team Coach's Award in 2014.
Conrad Felten (So.-Wausau, WI/East) earned the Team Player award. Felten went a combined 14-5 in singles play going 13-4 at No. 5 singles and 1-1 at No. 6 singles. Felten was the team's Blugold Award winner in 2014.
Jordon Stevens (Jr.-Woodbury, MN) was named the team's Most Improved award winner. Stevens went a perfect 5-0 at No. 6 singles but it was in doubles play that Stevens did most of his damage. At No. 3 doubles Stevens went 16-7 for the season while going 1-0 in his only match at No. 1 doubles. It is the second consecutive season that Stevens earned the teams Most Improved award.
Kyle Hoffmann (Jr.-Franklin, WI) earned the team Coach's Award. Hoffman posted an overall singles record of 13-14 including an 11-13 mark at No. 1 singles. In doubles play Hoffman earned a record of 14-11 at No. 1 doubles.
The Blugolds went 17-7 overall this season marking the 11th-straight year that the program has posted double-digit dual meet victories. Eau Claire won a season-best eight straight matches from February 15 to March 13.
