Blugolds host UWL in Home Dual

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire swimming and diving teams take on UW- La Crosse in their fourth dual of the season, with the women falling by a score of 178-122 and the men tying with a score of 147-147. 

Results

The UWEC women won 5 events on the day, and the men won 8.  In addition, diver Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Jr. – Fridley, MN) earned an NCAA zone cut on both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives and won those events.

 Also for the Blugold men's team Collin Miller (Sr.—Rochester, MN/ Schaeffer Academy) had a great day, winning several events again for the Blugolds including the 200 yard free, 50 yard free, and the 100 yard free. 

For the Blugold women's team Emma Steffel (So.—Green Bay, WI/ Ashwaubenon) won multiple events on the day including the 100 and 200 yard backstroke and was a part of the winning 200 yard medley relay. 

"We raced incredibly well against a very strong La Crosse team." Said head coach Annie Ryder. "We knew we had to do this as a team and the energy on deck was exciting. I'm so proud of this group for the way they stepped up and raced as a team and knew what they had to do to put themselves in a position to be successful. Good things are coming for this group and we continue to get better every week. This is a young group and they have stepped up when it counts."

The Blugolds return to act next Saturday versus St. Cloud.
