Glumac-Berberich sets school record as Swim & Dive splits at UWSP

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Jr. – Fridley, MN) set a school record on the 1-meter dive on Saturday as the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving fell to UW-Stevens Point 192-104 while the women defeated the Pointers 199-101.  

Results

Glumac-Berberich, who hit NCAA zone cuts on both the 1 and 3-meter dives last week, scored a 339.85 on the 1-meter on Saturday to break the school record and take first place. The junior also won the 3-meter dive with a score of 295.70.

In addition, Collin Miller (Jr. – Rochester, MN/Schaeffer Academy) also won two events for the men's squad, placing first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.23) and 100-yard freestyle (47.67).

For the women, Sam Senczyszyn (Sr. – Grafton, WI) and Maddie Kooima (Fr. – Stoughton, WI) (2:17.16) each won two individual events with Senczynszyn also helping two relay teams take the top spot.

200-yard medley relay – Jessica Short (Sr. – Grafton, WI), Senczynszyn, Emma Steffel (Fr. – Green Bay, WI/Ashwaubenon) and Emily Ries (So. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) (1:52.99)

200-yard freestyle – Rachael Streit (So. – Lakeville, MN/South) (2:03.06)

100-yard backstroke – Jessica Wilson (So. – Brookfield, WI/Wauwatosa West) (1:03.27)

100-yard breaststroke – Ries (1:11.52)

50-yard freestyle – Senczynszyn (24.30)

100-yard freestyle – Senczynszyn (53.42)

200-yard backstroke – Kooima (2:17.16)

200-yard IM – Kooima (2:23.45)

200-yard breaststroke – Camille Madsen (Sr. – Andover, MN) (2:39.74)

500-yard freestyle – Anna Theisen (Jr. – Glenbeulah, WI/Plymouth) (5:37.37)

200-yard freestyle relay – Ries, Wilson, Brittany Farr (Sr. – Madison, WI/James Madison Memorial) and Senczynszyn (1:41.01)

1-meter dive – Sarah Dahlk (Fr. – Verona, WI.Middleton) (203.75)

"The team swam really well today, and many had season-best times," said Head Coach Annie Ryder. "They did a great job racing and concentrating on the race and strategy at hand and their times fell into place. We continue to improve with each meet and I'm proud of how we raced today."

The Blugolds will be back at home on Friday as they host Luther College. The dual will begin at 5 p.m. at the McPhee Center.
