Swim and Dive defeats Luther, sets three pool records

DECORAH, Iowa (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving team defeated Luther College on the road Saturday, with the men winning 145.5-88.5 and the women 138-101.

Results

The 200-yard relay team of Amanda Wiedoff (So. – Pewaukee, WI/Kettle Moraine), Emily Ries (Fr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial), Anna Pagel (Fr. – Hillsboro, OR) and Molly Quinlan (Sr. – Roseville, MN) took first with a time of 1:57.81.

Rachael Streit (Fr. – Lakeville, MN/South) won the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.08) while Camille Madsen (Jr. – Andover, MN) took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:39.90).

Jessica Short (Jr. – Grafton, WI) won the 200-yard IM, breaking the pool record with a time of 2.14.93. The junior also won the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.86).

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Short, Quinlan, Brittany Farr (Jr. – Madison, WI/James Madison Memorial) and Ries took first with a time of 1:43.99 to lead the Blugolds.

On the men's side, the 200-yard relay team of Collin Miller (So. – Rochester, MN/Schaeffer Academy), Dayton Miller (Sr. – Rochester, MN/Schaeffer Academy), Conner Pendill (So. – Savage, MN/Burnsville) and Logan Coert (Sr. – Cedarburg, WI) took first with a time of 1:39.81. Collin Miller also set the pool record in the 50 free and would also win the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.88.

Dylan Glumac-Berberich (So. – Fridley, MN) won the 1-meter dive, recording a score of 288.70 while Noah Krantz (Fr. – Waunakee, WI/Middleton) won the 3-meter dive with a score of 185.80.

Dayton Miller set a new pool record in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:15.84 while Nicholas Meints (So. – Parker, CO/Ponderosa) took first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.88).

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Collin Miller, Andrew Shane (So. – Kenosha, WI/Badger), Jack Kelly (Sr. Medina, MN/Wayzata) and Coert took first with a time of 1:28.45.

Next up for the Blugolds is a dual at UW-La Crosse on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
