Men's Swim/Dive Remains in Second Place at WIAC Championships

BROWN DEER, Wisc. (blugolds.com) - Day two of the 2017 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Swimming & Diving Championships (presented by Culver's) took place Friday, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's team remains in second place.

Friday's Results

For the diving portion of the event, Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Fr.-Fridley, MN) tied for first place in the 1 Meter competition with a score of 480.70.

As for the swimming, the Blugolds took the top-two spots in the 100 yard breaststroke. Collin Miller (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Schaeffer Academy) set another meet record with his time of 55.24, breaking that of former Blugold Alex Card in 2013; it also was faster than last year's NCAA invite time. Ben Fisher (Sr.-Roselle, IL/Lake Park) finished behind Miller with his time of 56.84.

In the 400 yard individual medley, the Blugolds had swimmers finish in the first and third positions. Dayton Miller's (Jr.-Rochester, MN/Schaeffer Academy) 4:04.43 posting topped the field, while the time of 4:07.32 by Nicholas Meints (Fr.-Parker, CO/Ponderosa) took the bronze. Miller's time was an NCAA B cut.

Finally, in the 800 yard freestyle relay, Collin Miller, Nicholas Meints, Caleb Odmark (So.-White Bear Lake, MN), and Logan Coert (Jr.-Cedarburg, WI) posted a time of 6:52.69, good for a second place finish.

The final day of the competition will resume from Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center on Saturday morning with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m.
