Men's Swim & Dive competes at UWSP Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team came back strong after their winter break as they competed in day one of the UW-Stevens Point Invite.

After day one, the Blugolds are in second with a team score 590.

Dayton Miller led Eau Claire with a first place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in with a time of 2:13.23 while Nicholas Meints took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:54.23.

Ryan Young was second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.53. Young and Andrew Strauch also finished second and third in the 200-yard butterfly, turning in times of 1:59.87 and 2:03.03, respectively.

Collin Miller also had a strong showing as he took third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:01.32 and third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.33.

The Blugolds did well in the relays as the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ben Fisher, Jack Kelly, Logan Coert and Collin Miller finished second with a time of 1:25.86.

The 400-yard medley relay team of Young, Collin Miller, Strauch and Coert took second place with a time of 3:36.77 while the team of Kelly, Ben Fisher, Konrad Plomedahl and Andrew Shane were third with a time of 3:40.37.

In diving, Dylan Glumac-Berberich took first with a time of 433.40, which meets an NCAA zone cut.

The Blugolds will be back in action Saturday for the final day of the invite.
