Blugold men remain in second at Rochester Invite

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team remains in second place after session two of the Rochester Invitational.

The Blugolds moved their tally to 585.50 points and only trail NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University (827.50).

Collin Miller won the 100-yard IM with a winning time of 52.07 while Andrew Strauch was eighth with a time of 1:00.21.

Ryan Young was second in the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.84) and Strauch was fourth (1:58.15).

Nick Meints placed third to the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.53) while Caleb Odmark was eighth (5:03.83).

Odmark also was sixth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.78. while Coert and Shane finished ninth and tenth with times of 1:49.88 and 1:50.70, respectively.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Ben Fisher, Jack Kelly, Logan Coert and Collin Miller were second with a time of 1:24.29 while the team of Odmark, Meints, Strauch and Andrew Shane were seventh with a time of 1:28.71.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Collin Miller, Fisher, Young and Coert took fifth, clocking in at 1:36.13 while the team of Kelly, Mikhail Patros, Strauch and Shane was seventh with a time of 1:38.58.

Collin Miller also tied for fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (21.10) while Fisher was eighth (21.34).

Kelly was fourth in the 100-yard backstroke while Max McCanna was sixth with times of 53.91 and 56.08, respectively.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Collin Miller was second (57.41) and Fisher was seventh (59.40) and Dayton Miller tenth (1:00.14).

In diving, Dylan Glumac was sixth and Matthew McMahon was seventh in the 3-meter diving, recording scores of 301.15 and 283.20, respectively.

The Blugolds will compete in the third and final session on Sunday.
