Blugold Men in second place after day one of Rochester Invite

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team is in second place after the first session of the Rochester Invitational.

Session 1 Results

The Blugolds tallied 118 points in the first session of the three-day invite.

Eau Claire was led by the 400-yard medley relay team of Collin Miller, Ben Fisher, Ryan Young and Logan Coert who finished third with a time of 3:30.41 while the team of Jack Kelly, Dayton Miller, Andrew Strauch and Andrew Shane were seventh with a time of 3:35.70.

Nicholas Meints also had a strong day for the Blugolds, finishing third in the 500-yard freestyle prelims with a time of 4:52.82.

Meints, Coert, Dayton Miller and Collin Miller also were fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:08.33) while the team of Strauch, Shane, Caleb Odmark and Jack Kelly were fifth (7:18.32).

The Blugolds will swim in session two on Saturday and finish the invitational on Sunday.
