Miller leads Men's Swim & Dive at UW-Stevens Point Triangular

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team competed at UW-Stevens Point Triangular on Saturday, falling to UW-Stevens Point and St. Cloud State University.

The Blugolds lost to the Pointers by a score of 185.00-114.00 and were beaten by the NCAA Division II Huskies, 196-100.00.

Collin Miller led Eau Claire on the day, winning two events. Miller won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.89 and the 200-yard IM was a time of 1:58.71 and was second in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 47.56.

Dayton Miller also won an event for the Blugolds, winning the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:15.19 while Nicholas Meints was second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.11 and was sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.92).

Ryan Young placed in the top five in three events as he finished third in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.63), fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.69) and was fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (53.94).

Teammate Jack Kelly took third place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time 56.15 while Ben Fisher was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (49.26) and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (21.92).

The top relay for Eau Claire was the 200-yard freestyle as the team of Fisher, Kelly, Logan Coert and Collin Miller placed third with a time of 1:26.63.

Diver Dylan Glumac won the 1-meter dive with a score of 248.05 and was fourth in the 3-meter, recording a final score of 218.65. 

The Blugolds will return to action Friday, Oct. 28 as they host Luther College at 5 p.m.
