Men's Swimming & Diving Faces St. Cloud and Stevens Point

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – With divers competing at UW-Eau Claire and swimmers competing at UW-Stevens Point, the UW-Eau Claire men's swimming & diving team faced UW-Stevens Point and St. Cloud State University today.

The Blugolds recorded five finishes of third place or better, including one victory.

Alex Card (Sr.-Prior Lake, Minn.) had the Blugolds' top finish as he won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:02.88. He also came in third in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Claiming runner-up status were Ben Epperly (Sr.-Schaumburg, Ill.), Reed Molander (Fr.-Urbandale, Iowa), Aaron Lickel (Sr.-Madison, Wis./East) and Spencer Rose (Sr.-Brookfield, Wis./Central) in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team finished second with a time of 3:20.80.

Molander also had a third place finish in the 100-yard butterfly while the 200-yard medley relay team of Ryan Young (Fr.-Lakeville, Minn./North), Card, Lickel and Epperly also took third.

Next weekend the Blugolds will be at home to face Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) and Northern Michigan University. Action will get underway at 8:45 a.m.
