Men's Swimming & Diving Finishes Second at St. Thomas Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's swimming & diving team took second place out of six teams at the St. Thomas Invitational this past weekend.

Eau Claire finished with 893 points while St. Thomas won with 1,210.5. Luther College (Iowa) was third with 390.

The Blugolds won four events.

Nick Badilla (Sr.-Appleton, Wis./North) won both the one and three-meter dives. He set a meet record with a score of 285.25 points in the three-meter. He took first in the one-meter with 247.60 points.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Corey Groshens (Sr.-St. Louis Park, Minn./Hopkins) set a meet record with a time of 1:00.96 as he came in first.

Alex Card (Jr.-Prior Lake, Minn.) set a pool and meet record in the 200-yard breaststroke as he won with a time of 2:10.44.

The Blugolds will now be off for the holidays and their next competition will be mid-January.
