Ashland, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team finished their regular season series with Northland College on Saturday afternoon. Coming off their ninth Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) win a night before, the Blugolds erupted for four goals in the final period to earn the 6-1 victory.

Box Score

The Blugolds wasted no time getting the first tally of the game as Matt Stanton (Fr. – Stillwater, MN) would find a wide-open net on the weak side to put Eau Claire up 1-0.

In the second, Nathan Dingmann (Jr. – Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) would enter the zone on a counterattack and dangle through the Northland defense to create space. After finding the center of the slot, Dingmann would rifle one by the Lumberjack goalie to make it 2-0.

The final frame would see the momentum continue in Eau Claire's favor. The Blugolds would score four goals in a matter of six minutes to take the third period by storm. Andrew McGlynn (So. – St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers College) would score his 7th and 8th goals of the year and Jake Bresser (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) recorded three assists during the scoring surge.

Goaltender Zach Dyment (Jr. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) would stop 24 of the 25 shots he faced and is now 15-2-2 on the year.

The Blugolds will continue WIAC play next week when they travel to UW-River Falls on Friday and Saturday, February 14th-15th to finish regular season play. Both games are scheduled for a 7PM puck drop.
