MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey continued WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) play on Wednesday as they traveled to Menomonie to take on the UW-Stout Blue Devils. Coming in off a recent defeat on Friday, the Blugolds would swarm the Stout goaltender all night to come away with a 3-1 victory and their 17th win of the season.

Box Score

The Blugolds would get off to a hot start with a goal from Simon Sagissor (Fr. – Stillwater, MN) just five minutes in. Eau Claire would not stop there, as Steen Cooper (Jr. – Duncan, BC) would score with just 40 seconds left in the period to keep the offense rolling.

The second period would see no score, and the Blugolds would kill off the only penalty of the period.

In the final period, both teams would add to the scoreboard once, but Eau Claire would keep their lead. Austin Redders (So. – McFarland, WI) was credited with the lone powerplay goal of the night as they converted one of three. This would improve their powerplay efficiency to 17 percent going into their last three games.

The Blugolds would have nine different players on the scoresheet tonight as Tyler Tomberlin (Jr. – St. Paul, MN/Andover) Jack Murphy (S. – Prior Lake, MN), Adam Parsells (So. – Wausau, WI/West), Nathan Dingmann (So. – Plymouth, MN/Wayzata), Lucas Kohls (Sr. – Forest Lake, MN) and Scott Munro (Jr. – Vancouver, BC/St. George's) would all get credit for one assist each.

Zach Dyment (So. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) would stop 17 of the 18 shots he faced to earn his 17th win of the season.
