Men's Hockey leads NCAA in power play percentage

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey was recently recognized by the NCAA as the Blugolds were the NCAA Division III leader with a 29.7 power play percentage.

"The power play, like a goalie, can win games," said Head Coach Matt Loen. "Our power play was sharp and executed plays all year. It also helps to have the right personnel to make and finish plays. We work on it a fair amount so it is rewarding to our team to be recognized."

The Blugolds finished the 2015-16 season with a 15-6-6 record (5-2-1 WIAC) and shared the conference title with UW-River Falls.

UW-Eau Claire will open the 2016-17 campaign on October 28 at home against Lawrence University.
