The Blugolds now stand at 3-2-2 on the season while the Foresters are 2-3-2.  The tie snapped a four-game winning streak for Eau Claire over Lake Forest, who last played each other on January 24, 2009.  It was the third straight nationally-ranked opponent the Blugolds had faced this week.  In the last five days the Blugolds have faced top-ranked St. Norbert, fifth-ranked Adrian College and Lake Forest who is receiving votes in the USCHO.com NCAA Division III National Poll.

Lake Forest scored the game's first goal at 13:07 of the first period taking an early 1-0 lead.  The Blugolds countered when Todd Koritzinsky (Fr.-Verona, WI/Middleton) scored his second goal in the last two games assisted by Ethan Nauman (Jr.-Mosinee, WI) and Jake Davidson (Fr.-Duluth, MN/Shattuck St. Mary's) tying the game at 1-1.

It would be the last goal scored on the evening as both goalies took center stage.  Tyler Green (Jr.-Noblesville, IN) saved 27 shots.  Green now has a season record of 2-0-1.  Lake Forest goalie Leo Podolsky saved 43 shots against an aggressive Blugold offense.

Both penalty kill units had strong evenings as the Blugolds went 0-for-4 on the power play while the Foresters where 0-for-5.

The Blugolds return to the road next week when they will travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota to face Augsburg College.  The Auggies are also receiving votes in the latest USCHO.com poll.  Face-off is set for Saturday, November 29 at 7:05 p.m.
