Tyler Green Named WIAC Athlete of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – For the second week in a row, UW-Eau Claire men's hockey goalie Tyler Green (So.-Noblesville, Ind.) has been named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Helping the Blugolds to two WIAC victories during the week, Green played all 120 minutes in-goal and gave up just two goals, while the Blugolds scored nine.  In a 3-0 win over UW-Superior on Feb. 7, Green stopped 29 shots to record his fifth shutout of the year and the team's eighth, both of which are school records.  In a 6-2 triumph over the Yellowjackets on Feb. 8, he faced 44 shots and made 42 saves.  Starting 15 games this season, Green now has 418 saves, while giving up 27 goals for a goals-against-average of 1.84 and a save percentage of .939.
