The banner will be the Blugolds' second national title banner displayed on the wall at Hobbs but will be the first NCAA banner. The Blugolds also won the NAIA national title in 1984. The unveiling will take place approximately five minutes before the game.

The Blugolds finished last season with a record of 24-5-2, their best mark ever, after capturing the 2013 NCAA Division III title in Lake Placid, N.Y. at Herb Brooks Arena. They also won the conference titles in both the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), their first conference championships in history. This season, the Blugolds are playing exclusively in the WIAC.

UW-Eau Claire will be home Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 and 9, and will then play on the road four straight games. They will be home again for two more games Nov. 27 and Dec. 6 and will then play three on the road before heading into the holiday break.
