Men's Hockey Trounces Saints on the Road

DULUTH, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team kept its winning streak alive, beating the College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) 5-1 tonight. The win brought the Blugolds' record to a perfect 5-0.

The Blugolds maintained their lead by keeping a balanced attack throughout the game. They scored one goal in the opening period, and two goals in both the second and third periods.

Their attack was led by Isaiah Bennis' (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis/Memorial) two goal, one assist performance.

UW-Eau Claire recorded eight assists to their five goals. Robbie Anderegg (Jr.-Urbandale, Iowa/Dowling Catholic) led the team with an impressive three assists.

Brandon Stephenson (Sr. Saline, Mich.) played a great game in net for the Blugolds, saving 25 of St. Scholastica's 26 shots on net. The Blugold goalkeepers have collectively played very well in the team's first five games, allowing only 10 goals, and maintaining a .919 save percentage.

The Blugolds will look to stay undefeated on the season when they face St. Scholastica again tomorrow evening. The game will be played in Duluth and will start at 7 p.m.
