Men's Golf finishes 2nd, Prefontaine and Jahnke tie for fifth overall at Wrigglesworth Invite

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The No. 22 ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team wrapped up the Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational on Monday at the Eau Claire Country Club. After tying for 1st in the beginning round, the Blugolds would slot themselves into second place after a cold and rainy Monday afternoon.

Isaac Prefontaine (Jr. – New Franken, WI/Preble) and Cole Jahnke (So. – Stillwater, MN) would take the lead for Eau Claire on the last day with both players tying for fifth place at just one over par for the tournament. The team as a whole finished just 15 shots over par and just five shots behind of the leaders.

The Blugold second team jumped into a fourth-place finish after Connor Brown (Fr. – Racine, WI/Union) finished towards the top of the day two leaderboard finishing just three over par.

The Blugolds will host their annual Alumni Golf outing this Saturday at the Eau Claire Country Club, and then will return back to competition on Saturday, September 21st as they travel to Minnesota for the Saint John's Fall Invite.
