NORMAL, Illinois (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team kicked off the spring season on Saturday, taking home a second place finish at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational while Ryan Isaacson (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) tied for third overall.

Results

The invitational was shortened due to the weather, but the Blugolds made the most of the round they were able to play on Saturday. The Blugolds finished with a team score of 297 (+9) following host Illinois Wesleyan's 289.

Isaacson led the way with a 72 while Nick Bauer (Jr. – Oshkosh, WI/North) tied for ninth with a 73 and Alex Rogan (So. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) finished tied for 19th with a 75.

In addition, Isaac Prefontaine (Fr. - New Franklin, WI/ Green Bay Preble) shot a 77 (tied for 36th) and Grant Burish (So. – Janesville, WI/Shattuck-St. Mary's) tallied an 82 (tied for 66th).

The Blugolds will back in action April 15-16 at the Gustavus Bobby Krig Invitational.
