Hanson wins Bobby Krig Invite, Blugolds finish 4th

JORDAN, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – Brady Hanson (Sr. – Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team turned in a dominate performance Monday at the Bobby Krig Invitational, earning medalist honors and leading the Blugolds to a fourth place finish.

UW-Eau Claire was in seventh place after Sunday's first round with a team score of 303, but Hanson and the Blugolds stepped up in the second and third rounds on Monday to move up to a fourth place finish. In the second round, Eau Claire tallied a 306 before recording an impressive 290 in the final round.

After shooting a 78 Sunday, Hanson shot a 69 and 68, edging St. Thomas' Pete Sienko for the individual title by just one stroke.

Ryan Isaacson (Jr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) also improved on Sunday, tallying a 73 in both rounds to finish in a tie for 13th, moving up six spots.

Michael Immekus (Fr. – Greendale, WI/Catholic Memorial) shot an 81 in round two before rallying for a 71 in the final round, jumping 15 spots to finish in a tie for 25th.

"The men showed a lot of patience out there today considering the extreme conditions," said Head Coach Mike Greer. "Brady Hanson played phenomenal, and was very deserving of medalist honors."

The Blugolds will be back in action Saturday, April 29th as they compete in the Saint John's Spring Invitational.
