RAMSEY, Minn. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team completed round one of a three-day tournament Saturday afternoon from The Links at Northfork. After the opening day, the Blugolds currently sit in fourth place.

Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the Twin Cities Classic, which takes place at three different courses. Sunday's second round is at the Elk River Golf Course in Elk River, Minn., and Monday's final round is at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn.

Round 1 Team and Individual Results

The Blugolds spot in fourth on the leaderboard came as they shot a 296 (+8) on Saturday. Brady Hanson (Sr.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) leads the way for UW-Eau Claire, as he shot a 2-under 70 in the opening round, good for a spot tied for third on the individual leaderboard.

Joey Dreier (Sr.-New London, MN) and Michael Immekus (Fr.-Greendale, WI/Catholic Memorial) are tied for twenty-first after both posting a 75 today (+3).

"Today was a steady day for the men, and that's how they need to think to play golf well," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "There will always be strokes left out there, but we're sitting in a good position among the strong field. I'm proud Brady Hanson finished under par, which again puts him in a great position to move up the leaderboard."

Sunday's second round tee times start at 10:30 a.m. from the Elk River Golf Course.
