Men's golf leads the field after round one of Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team is in first place after completing round one of the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational at Wild Ridge Golf Course.

Day 1 Results

The Blugolds turned in a team score of 296 (+8) while Gustavus Adolphus is in second with a 303 (+15).

Ryan Isaacson (Jr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) leads the Blugolds with a score of 71 (-1), putting him in a tie for second place overall while Brady Hanson (Sr.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) is in tied for fourth with a 74 (+2).

"I was in control of my golf ball from start to finish," said Isaacson. "I could tell the wind was making others struggle. It was a hard day of golf. Once I got to the back nine, I just focused on making pars and made nine pars in a row."

"What a great comeback round for the Blugolds after a disappointing finish at Augsburg last weekend," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "The men made a lot of strong decisions on the course, considering wind conditions today. They just need to keep their eye on another solid day tomorrow."

The Blugolds will finish the tournament on Monday at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club. Follow the live stats on Blugold Game Day
