Men's Golf Takes Third At Bobby Krig Invite

JORDAN, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Bobby Krig Invitational, tying for third out of 15 teams in the two-day tournament held at the Ridge at Sand Creek on Sunday and Monday.

In round one, the Blugolds shot a team score of 304 and were led by Joey Dreier's (So.-New London, MN) 74 followed by a 75 by Brady Hanson (So.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge).

In round two, Eau Claire shot a 311 as Dreier again put in a strong performance, shooting a 76. Sean Murphy (Sr.-Middleton, WI) shot his best round of the tournament, shooting a 77 while Andrew Schmidt (Jr.-Green Bay, WI/Southwest) shot a 78.

In the final round, the Blugolds turned in a score of 314, bringing their tournament total to 929 (+73) and tying with Saint John's Team Blue for third place. Gustavus Adolphus and Saint John's tied for first with scores of 924.

Ryan Isaacson (Fr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) turned in the top Blugold performance in round three, recording a score of 76 while Jake Erickson (Sr.-Chaska, MN/Academy of Holy Angels) shot a 77.

Overall, Hanson and Isaacson led the Blugolds, tying for 10th with scores of 232 while Erickson tied for 16th and Dreier finishing tied for 30th.

Next up for the Blugolds will be the Saint John's Spring Invitational on April 25-26 in St. Cloud, Minn.
