Josh Turnquist enters his second season as an assistant coach for the UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team in 2019-20.

Prior to joining the Blugold staff, Turnquist was an assistant coach at UW-Stout where he was the head of recruiting, academic liaison, video coordinator, and social media coordinator in addition to  aiding in on-court instruction.

Last summer, he was a coach at the Snow Valley Basketball School through USA Basketball and legendary coach, Don Showalter. The summer before, Turnquist was an intern for the Minnesota Timberwolves/Lynx and assisted with the Wolves/Lynx Youth Academy.

In addition, the Rogers, Minn. native has spent time as an individual skills trainer for the Rogers Area Youth Basketball Association (RAYBA) in addition to running his own individual skills training sessions for individual and groups.

Turnquist also spent two years as the head varsity boys basketball coach at Lakeview Christian Academy.  He was able to improve their record by five wins and earned the second seed in the Section 7A tournament in his tenure.

A 2017 graduate from University of Minnesota-Duluth, Turnquist played for the Bulldogs from 2012-2013 and has been furthering his experience as a coach through coaching multiple Division I basketball camps including the camps at Iowa State, Marquette and Oregon.

Turnquist earned a double major in finance and accounting as well as a minor in coaching.  He is currently pursing a master’s degree in Sports Administration.
