Blugolds earn All-WIAC honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) office announced the 2019 All-WIAC men's basketball awards on Tuesday, with Cole Rabedeaux (Jr. – Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap) leading the way with First Team All-WIAC honors.

Rabedeaux was second in the WIAC in scoring (16 ppg.), second in made three-pointers (2.62) and third in three-point percentage (.415). The junior also set a program record this season for made and attempted three's in an 81-47 win over Mt. Alyosius (PA), connecting on 11 of 18 attempts. Rabedeaux also poured in a career-high 44 points in the win.

Ben Widdes (Sr. – Rice Lake, WI) earned Honorable Mention All-WIAC honors after finishing fourth in the WIAC in steals per game (1.62) and sixth in assists (2.88) per game. The senior transfer was second on the team in scoring average (13.3).

Wilyam Wright (Sr. – Bolingbrook, IL/Plainfield East), earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team as well after anchoring the Blugold defense. Wright started in all 26 games this season, shooting 48.5 percent from the field.

In addition, Kyle McDonald (Cambridge, MN/Cambridge-Isanti) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team for Eau Claire.
