No. 4 Titans defeat Blugolds, 85-63

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Facing the No. 4-ranked University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans on the road on Wednesday, the UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team fell by a score of 85-63.

The Blugolds kept pace with the Titans early and had a 15-14 lead five minutes into the game, but the Titans went on a 9-0 run to regain the lead. But a Wilyam Wright (Sr. – Bollingbrook, IL/Plainfield East) three would get the Blugold offense going again and after the teams traded layups, Wright would hit another three and with a foul, made it a four-point play to bring Eau Claire back within one, 25-24 with under five minutes to play in the first half. However, the Titans would score the last 13 points of the half to take a 45-29 lead into the locker room.

The Titans would maintain their lead in the second half to remain undefeated in conference play, recording an 85-63 win.

Sean Miller (Jr. – Waukesha, WI/Kettle Moraine) would lead Eau Claire with 18 points and eight rebounds off the bench while Cole Rabedeaux (Jr. – Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap) followed with 16 points. Ben Widdes (Sr. – Rice Lake, WI) also finished in double figures with 13.

Eau Claire finished the game shooting 37.9 percent from the field (22-58) while the Titans were 50.8 percent (31-61).
