GALLATIN, Tenn. (Blugolds.com) – After scoring a career-high 30 points in Saturday's overtime loss, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Cole Rabedeaux (Jr. – Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap) set a new career-high on Sunday, tallying 44 points to lead the Blugold men's basketball team to a dominating 81-47 win over Mt. Alyosius (PA) at the Music City Classic.
Rabedeaux also set a new school record for made and attempted three-pointers, connecting on 11 of 18 which broke Andy Fisher's nine made three's set in 1996 and Dustin Kalien's 16 attempts in 2013. The junior was also 16-for-25 from the field in 33 minutes of play.
The Blugolds never trailed in the win, shooting 50 percent (29-for-58) from the field while holding Mt. Alyosius to 24.4 percent (11-for-45). Led by Rabedeaux, Eau Claire also shot an impressive 50 percent from behind the arc, hitting 17 of 34 attempts while the Mounties were 3-for-14 (21.4 percent).
Steve Christiansen (Sr. – Apple Valley, MN) led the Blugolds on the boards, recording six rebounds and dishing out four assists while Blake Wacholz (Jr. – Lakeville, MN/South) had a game-high five assists.
