Men's Basketball Falls to Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's basketball team was on the road Wednesday night in Oshkosh, where they lost 71-49 to the Titans.

Oshkosh came out firing as they found themselves up early 13-3 against Eau Claire. George Diekelman (So.- Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) led the team with 10 points and five rebounds. The Blugolds battled on, but could never take the lead or tie the game.

Eau Claire shot 40 percent from the floor (18-44) and only 21 percent from beyond the arc (4-19). Turnovers were the downfall of the Blugolds as Oshkosh would score 23 points off Eau Claire turnovers alone. Oshkosh would shoot 47 percent from the floor and Charlie Noone led the Titans with 17 points.

With the loss, Eau Claire snaps their five game win streak and drops to 14-8 (7-4 WIAC). The Blugolds will be back on the road against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday February 13. The game is set to start at 3:00 p.m.
