Kalien and Mau Receive WIAC Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire's Tyson Kalien (So. Chippewa Falls, WI) and Lewis Mau (Sr. Colfax, WI) have been selected to the 2014-15 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams in a vote by the league coaches.

Kalien was named First Team All-WIAC after his first season with the Blugolds. The sophomore led the team averaging 14.7 points per game and scored a season-high 32 against UW-La Crosse. He also led in made field goals (127), field goal attempts (285), three-point field goals (80), three point attempts (181) and made free throws (62).

Kalien played in every game this season, averaging 31.6 minutes with a field goal percentage of 44.6 (44.2 percent from three) and 74.7 percent from the free throw line.

Mau was named Honorable Mention All-WIAC for the second time in his career, the first after the 2012-2013 season. The senior was second on the team with a 9.3 scoring average and was also second in made field goals (89) field goal attempts (213) and made free throws (51). Mau played in 26 games this season, averaging 29.1 minutes and shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from the three point line. He was also one of only five players selected to the All-Defensive Team.

Trevor Berkley (Sr. St. Michael, MN/Rogers) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, which was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.  It included one member from each school.
