EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugold.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team will host Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night on Wednesday. Fans are encouraged to wear ugly Christmas sweaters for a chance to win $250 in Ragstock gift cards. Prizes for the best sweaters will be given out at halftime.

Looking to earn their first WIAC win as they host UW-Superior, Eau Claire will need to stop the WIAC's second-highest scoring offense as the Yellowjackets average 75.7 points and have the highest free throw percentage at 77.9 percent. 

The Blugolds, however, have the slight edge in field goal percentage, shooting 45.5 percent from the field to Superior's 44.3 percent. Eau Claire's defense has also held opponent's field goal percentage 45.5 percent while the Yellowjackets have allowed 53.1 percent. 

Tyson Kalien (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, WI) leads the Blugold offense, averaging nearly 13 points per game while teammates  Lewis Mau (Sr.-Colfax, WI), Adam Hjelter (Jr.-Hutchinson, MN) and Kurtis Moody (Jr.-Pequot Lakes, MN) average just under 10. 

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Zorn Arena.
