Two Blugold Men's Basketball Players Honored by WIAC

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Two UW-Eau Claire men's basketball players have been recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) with the announcement of the All-WIAC team today.

Honorably mentioned for the 2013-14 season was Adam Hjelter (So.-Hutchinson, Minn.). This season, Hjelter led the Blugolds in scoring with 15.5 points, which also ranked seventh in the league. He had the best free throw percentage in the WIAC, 89.3 percent (67-for-75), the 15th best average in the nation. Hjelter was also second in the WIAC and first on the team in three-point shooting, making 71 shots. He was second on the team and 10th in the conference with 1.16 steals per game.

Eric Effertz (Jr.-Ladysmith, Wis.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, which was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.  It included one member from each school.
