EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire Director of Athletics Dan Schumacher has announced Blugolds Sports Network will partner with iHeartMedia to air Blugold athletic events for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years.
“Forming the Blugolds Sports Network was just the first step towards future plans for enhanced coverage of UW-Eau Claire Athletics,” Schumacher said. “We are excited to continue to work with iHeartMedia to enhance our coverage.”
The Blugolds Sports Network focuses on reaching new locations through multiple media outlets in the greater northwest Wisconsin region, featuring Blugold football, basketball, hockey and additional sports programming.
“Through television, radio, digital and social media, we look forward to giving our fans in-depth coverage by working with multiple corporate partners,” said Schumacher.
Blugold games will air on Classic Rock 92.1 (WMEQ-FM). Mike Sullivan, who has been the voice of the Blugolds for almost 40 years, will continue to call games. Coverage begins September 5 at the football home-opener as the Blugolds will host the University of St. Thomas at 6 p.m. at Carson Park.
